ALCO Guarantee
This Guarantee is provided by McKechnie Aluminium Solutions Limited (for the purposes of this guarantee called “ALCO”) in respect of the workmanship and materials used in the manufacture of ALCO Aluminium Ladders. The Guarantee covers the replacement of parts in the event of defective workmanship or materials for a period of:
ALCO Domestic ACH Range:
Six (6) years from the date of purchase for new ALCO Domestic Aluminium Ladders.
ALCO Trade ADS, AHS, AC, AS, BUDDY, AEL and ASL Range:
Twelve (12) years from the date of purchase for new ALCO Trade Aluminium Ladders.
All other ALCO Ladder Products:
Twelve (12) months from the date of purchase for new ALCO Ladders.
This guarantee is always subject to the conditions set out below.
Any repairs or replacement must be carried out by ALCO once a guarantee claim has been accepted by ALCO. ALCO shall not meet any freight costs incurred by the customer in returning the ladder to ALCO for a guarantee claim.
ALCOs liability in the event of any claim shall be limited to the supply of replacement parts and the provision of reasonable and necessary labour as detailed above or at its option the replacement of the ladder.
The Customer agrees that ALCO Domestic Aluminium Ladders are to be used exclusively for non-commercial purposes by an individual to facilitate access for home maintenance and repairs, on an intermittent basis.
In respect of ALCO Domestic Aluminium Ladders supplied to a consumer, the Consumer Guarantees Act will apply and nothing in this guarantee shall abridge any statutory guarantees or rights.
In respect of the supply of ALCO Industrial Aluminium Ladders the parties agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act shall not apply since these products are of the type ordinarily acquired for commercial or industrial use.
In respect of any ladder acquired by a consumer for business purposes, the parties agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act will not apply and is excluded.
To the fullest extent possible all statutory warranties, guarantees and implied terms are excluded. ALCO also excludes all liability for any indirect or consequential loss or damage including all claims for loss of profits, loss of business or similar claims.
The following conditions will apply strictly in respect of this guarantee:
- The claimant will need to provide proof of purchase from an ALCO stockist, including a date of purchase, in order to lodge a guarantee claim.
- Any non-warranty repairs by the consumer must be made using only authentic ALCO supplied parts, hardware and fasteners, and be carried out by an ALCO approved repairer.
- No modifications, adaptations or additions of supplementary parts or components are permitted at any time.
- Reasonable wear and tear is excluded and not covered.
- The maximum load ratings displayed on all ALCO ladders must not be exceeded at any time.
- The guarantee only applies to the ALCO Aluminium Ladder while it remains the property of the original purchaser.
- Misuse, abuse or any abnormal usage of the ladder will invalidate the guarantee.
- The guarantee does not cover negligent or accidental damage to the ladder.
- The guarantee is invalidated by the removal of or defacing of the serial number or other labels attached to the ladder.
- The guarantee does not cover fading, discolouration or degradation of plastic components or labels due to exposure to sunlight or ultra violet radiation.
- The guarantee applies only within New Zealand.
- The guarantee does not include corrosion of the metal, components or fasteners.
- The ladder shall be used and maintained in accordance with the ALCO “Safe Use and Care” document, which is available from all approved ALCO stockists.
